Janet S. Ackerman, age 70, resident of New Washington, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at Bucyrus Community Hospital. She was born on June 26, 1934 in Ashland, Ohio to the late Owen and Pauline (McFadden) Sharick and had been a resident of New Washington for 40 years. She graduated from Ashland High School. She was a housewife and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Trudy and Clay Bays of New Washington and Tamara and Mark Heefner of New Washington; two step-daughters and one son-in-law, Carole Perry of Monroeville, and Betty and Bob Ray of Cambridge, OH; one step son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lorna Ackerman of New Washington; 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; one brother, Duane Sharick of Nankin, OH; and serveral nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Richard Ackerman; her parents; one brother, Wilbert Sharick and one sister, Jeanne Sharick.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington on Sunday from 2-5 PM. Funeral service will be held on Monday at the St. John’s Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Bartczak officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in New Washington, OH. Memorial expressions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
