We are all blessed to have had the time we did with John. As with everyone else,I am still in shock. We met roughly 50 years ago and I am humbled that God allowed me to be a part of his life. I will miss him and cherish the memories and stories others have shared. May God Bless you all and I will be in touch from time to time.
Debbie and family,
I am so saddened to learn of John’s unexpected passing. We were classmates and he would always wave and speak to me when I would see him especially during track meets when Josh and Dirk ran together. I pray that the love of Jesus will be your strength and comfort.
Deb and Family: I am so sorry to hear of John’s untimely passing. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Deb, Chet, Dirk- We are so sad and sorry to hear of the passing of John. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your families during this most difficult time. May God Bless you all! Jim, Nancy, Kelsey, & Alysun Daniel
Deb and family, I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Marcia had the perfect father-in-law. Despite this early passing, she had over six years to bathe in the warmth and humor of one of the most genuine people anyone will ever meet. He will be deeply missed but his positive influence is forever woven into the family he so obviously loved. We will forever remember John for the kind and friendly person he was and for being a wonderful force in our daughter’s life.
Deb and boys,
I was speechless when I heard the news. I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss “Chico” and the many stories he would tell. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!
Deb our deepest sympathies to you and your family. You are in our prayers. God Bless
Deny & Roberta

Dear Debbie and Family,
We didn’t get to know Johnny well enough, but know how he took care of our cousin, Madeline–his mom. From reading others’ notes, he was the good man we knew him to be…not just for his mom, but to everyone. We’ll be praying for you, Jerry and Jackie Callen (Austin, Texas)

May God be with you all as you go thru this most difficult time. You and your whole family will be in our prayers and if you need anything just call.

Deb, Chet and Dirk,
We met John when we lived across Madeline all those years. He was always friendly and when he didn’t have a story to tell, she did. So sad to hear of your loss, and praying for you all.
Dirk and family, we are so sorry for the loss of your Dad. God Bless you during this difficult time.
Debbie, Chet & Dirk – I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. John was SUCH an amazing friend to my dad. After working those long RRD 3rd shifts, he would drive 45 minutes to Mansfield just to sit with dad for hours, many times a week, for 6 months. He was kind, loving, hilarious & so, SO proud of his boys (you guys are all he talked about). He had a huge heart. I only hope that I can be HALF the friend to my friends that Chico was to his.
Deb and family, So sorry for your loss. We will miss John going by our house on his bike always waving. We will keep all of you in our hearts and prayers.
Deb and family – So sorry to hear about your loss. John will surely be missed in your lives especially during this most sacred time of year. He is now an angel looking over you and will be waiting for you to join him in heaven. Deb, also know that you have a caring family at Galion Community Hospital that will always be there to support you.
Debbie and Family- I am sorry for your loss. My thought and prayers are with you all today and in the days to come. Remember he is safe with God now.
Deb, Chet and Dirk, We are so very sorry to hear about John. John may be gone but his loving memories will always remain in your thoughts and in your hearts. He was such a fun loving guy who was very proud of his family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Deb and Family – So sorry to hear about John. Many, many fond memories of John zipping around on that hoist at work (with a smile and a loud “hey” as he passed by), and especially the bike trip to the east coast with Rick and Steve. He was a great guy, and will be missed, but will also be remembered by many. You all have my condolences and prayers.
To the Kostoff Family: You are all in my prayers for peace and comfort during this transition that the passing of John will bring. We were classmates. I remember John always being the funny, happy go-lucky guy and from all of the comments here, that is exactly how he lived his life. Though his time was short on this earth, he will now be among the angels of God watching over you every minute. Sympathy and blessings to you all.

Deb and Family,
I am still in shock. John was one of my very best friends and we literally grew up together on Clark Street. His family was just an extended family of ours. He was the closest thing I ever had to a brother. Growing you and even as we grew older he was always there and I enjoyed our time together and the numerous phone calls. We did some crazy stuff over the years. He was a good man and friend. My mom is heart broken. Her and I will miss him every day.
We will see you at the funeral.

Some time ago, my wife (girlfriend at the time)and I were waiting at the end of a very long line in the bitter cold to get into a very busy restaurant. John and Deb, who were already seated at a table inside the restaurant, spotted us standing there. John immediately stood up and came out to us and insisted we come in and join him and Deb at their table for supper. What more can we say? That was the kind of guy he was and why he will be sorely missed. Our heart-felt condolences Deb and family.
Deb, Chet & Dirk – To say we are “sorry” doesn’t even come close to how we feel about losing John. He was for sure one of the good guys! Praying that the memories you share and the love that he gave will comfort you.
