John "JJ" Meyers, age 94, of New Washington, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at The Willows in Willard. He was born in Tiffin Mercy Hospital to Elmer N. and Carrie B. (Rothschild) Meyers. He graduated from New Washington High School and was the last of the class of 1942. Over the years, he had worked at the New Washington bowling alley, the Pennsylvania Rail Road (Carrothers to Sandusky), Shelby Seamless Tube, Galion Iron Works (Bucyrus), North Central Electric and retired from Timken in 1984 after 28 years. John enjoyed reading, Fox Business News and conversation with just about anyone.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Miriam (Earl) Wise, Ruth (Owen) Fike, Randall (Mary) Meyers, Dana Doty, three infant brothers and one infant sister. Also nephew Michael O. Fike and niece Cindy I. Wright.

He is survived by seven nieces and nephews: Karen (Phil) Vienhaus, Erla Nan Wise (Phil), Brett (Jennie) Meyers, Scott Meyers, Mitchell Fike, Mark (Cathy) Fike, Chris (Tonya) Fike, as well as great nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at the Union Cemetery in New Washington, Ohio. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, New Washington Library, 106 West Mansfield Street, New Washington, OH 44854 or to the donor's choice. My deepest sympathies to John's relatives! He was an inspiration just sharing stories about the good ole days living in New Washington. Always joking around and bringing laughter where ever he was. I will miss his smile and just talking with him. RIP John!
