Johnny Greathouse, age 64, resident of rural Willard, Ohio passed away on Monday, December 24, 2007 at his residence. He was born on May 2, 1943 in Buchanan, VA to his mother, Bureda (Bentley) Greathouse Hicks and his late father Archie Greathouse and had been a resident of Willard the past 35 years. He retired in 1997 from Ford Motor Company in Sandusky, Ohio. He was a US Army veteran stationed in Germany during peacetime. He was a member of the American Legion in Delaware, Ohio. Johnny was an avid coin collector and a gardener.
He is survived by his wife, Anna (Bolen) Greathouse whom he married on June 28, 1964; five children, Angie & Brian Gardner of Willard, Cynthia Greathouse of Willard, Dawn & Mike Collins of Canfield, Ohio, Johnny Greathouse Jr. & fiance’, Shannon Featheringill of New Washington, and Ron & Samantha Greathouse of Willard; 10 grandchildren; his mother, Bureda (Greathouse) Hicks of Plymouth. 7 brothers; and 5 sisters; numerous nieces and nephews..
He is preceded in death by his father, 2 brothers, Clarence and Tommy Greathouse; and an infant brother, Joseph.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Reverends Doc Burrows, Savel Combs, and Larry Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial expressions may be made to the Stein Hospice or the Willard Church of the Nazarene.
