Joshua Lee Handshoe, age 42, resident of Plymouth, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 23, 1976 in Willard, Ohio, to Robert and Bonnie (Shepherd) Handshoe. Joshua was a 1994 Pioneer Vocational School and Willard High School graduate and had worked as a welder. He had worked at The Crane in Bucyrus, Didion's Mechanical and Quality Welding Inc., both in Bellevue, for many years. His most recent employment was with the Union Local 42 out of Norwalk. Joshua loved the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and hunting camping trips. His children, grandson, and parents were the love of his life. He was loved by all of his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. Our dog, Copper, was his beloved squirrel hunting buddy and a well-loved part of our daily life.

Joshua is survived by his children, Haley (Joe) Heydinger, Hunter Handshoe, Hayden Handshoe; a grandson, Dayne Heydinger; parents, Robert and Bonnie Handshoe; mother of his children, Shari Handshoe; numerous friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mabel and Henderson Shepherd and paternal grandparents, Vince and Carrie Handshoe.

Visitation will be at the Victory Temple in Celeryville on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, where the memorial service will be at 1:00 PM with Pastor Earl Sexton and a guest pastor officiating. A dinner will be shared together, at the church, following the service. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it's not easy but he's in a better place now and God has a plan for him. The bible says in book Isaiah chapter 41 verse 10....Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. I know it seems like your not gonna make it without him but you have a little baby now so you have to be strong.

My dearest sympathy and prayers to Josh's family, parents, children and friends. I only had the pleasure of knowing Josh a very short time. This I know, he was a very caring, loving, kind hearted man with a gentle soul. God opened the gates and let the great warrior come into his forest to make and keep peace with all things. I miss you. Hopefully, I will see you on the other side.
