Lancan “Lance” Holbrook, age 64, resident of Willard, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at his home. He was born on September 12, 1942 in Salyersville, KY to the late Zebedee and Hattie (Clemon) Holbrook. He had been a resident of the Bellevue area most of his life until moving to Willard in 1998. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Armstrong heating and air conditioning in Bellevue after 44 years as a Superintendent of Maintenance. He attended Faith Builders Church of God in Willard. He was a loving Husband, father, step father and grandfather. He always took time off for the family and enjoyed having people around him all of the time. He loved to hunt and the wildlife; especially horses.
He is survived by his wife, Lacella (Patrick) Holbrook, whom he wed on August 22, 1998; his son, Lancan E. Holbrook of Fremont; his daughter, Kimberly Holbrook of New London; two step sons, Chad Rowe of Willard and Charles Rowe of New Haven; four grandchildren; two brothers, W.C. Holbrook of Castalia and Jerry Holbrook of Bellvue; and two sisters, Beatrice Artino of Bellevue and Wayvone Straggins of Tupleo, MS.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Irene (Gayhert) Holbrook on April 12, 1989; his parents; his sister, Mary Lou Trimmer; his brother, Landall Holbrook; and his step daughter, Regina (Rowe) Hicks.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Wednesday, February 7, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fred Rowe, Rev. Fred Allen Rowe and Rev. Larry Patrick officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven with Military Honors. Memorial expressions may be made to the Faith Builders Church of God.
