Lawrence Silliman, Jr. age 79, resident of rural Plymouth, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005 at his home following a year long illness. He was born on October 23, 1925 in Huron County, Ohio to the late Lawrence Sr. and Zelma (Magsig) Silliman and had been a life long Plymouth resident. Mr. Silliman retired from Miami Systems of Shelby in 1992 after 33 years of service and also farmed until recently. A veteran of the US Army he served in Austria as an M.P. He attended the Willard Christian Alliance Church, and was a member of the Plymouth American Legion, the VFW and the Farm Bureau. His grandchildren brought a special enjoyment to his life.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille (Kromer) Silliman who he married, June 9, 1956; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Randy Chavez of Cincinnati; and Loriann and Steve Reynolds of Lexington, OH; four grandchildren, Olivia, Nicholas, Anthony and Lindsay. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lu Lu Silliman.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Willard Christian Alliance Church with Pastor Richard Jueckstock officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. Memorial expressions can be made to the MedCentral Hospice.
