Lester G. ‘Willie’ Williston, age 79, resident of Shelby and former resident of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 in Heritage Care Center in Shelby, Ohio. He was born on February 11, 1927 in Elyria, Ohio to the late Robert and Cyrena (Plough) Williston. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth. He was a Proud American who served as a Navy Seabee in World War II. He was a Union Steward Teamsters local #40 and a past member of the Plymouth American Legion. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Leona (Taylor) Williston, whom he wed on May 29, 1949; four children, Sue Ann Winck of Shelby, Bonnie Williston Baker of Tampa, FL, Mark Graydon Williston of Jackson, MI, and Sharon K. Williston of Columbus, OH; four grandsons; one granddaughter; three great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Roger Winck; his parents; one brother; and one sister.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Thursday, February 16, 2006 from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth on Friday, February 17, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Leonard Shatkus officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
