Lyndel D. Coder, age 81, resident of rural Attica, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born on May 9, 1929 in Richmond Twp., Huron County, Ohio to the late Loy and Helen (Carpenter) Coder and had been a rural Attica resident his entire life. Mr. Coder was a 1947 graduate of Willard High School and then served in the US Army. He had been a life long farmer, a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church and a former board member at the Sutton Bank in Attica, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvia (Michaels) Coder; three children; Tom (Sue) Coder of Attica; Barb (Ron) Dentinger of Attica; and Bob Coder of Willard; six grandchildren, Alisa Agozzino, Arick Dentinger, Nicole Tallman, Brittney Coder, Megan Coder and Addie Coder; two great grandchildren, Emelia and Isaac; a sister, Annabel Pugh of Shelby; and a brother-in-law, L.H. Henderson of Hampton, VA.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters, Avis Sue Coder, Wilda Mae Haverfield and Ruth Henderson; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Coder and a life long friend, Leon Hord.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at the Richmond United Methodist Church on Bullhead Road with Pastor Paul Capelle officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Attica, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the Richmond United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.
