Margaret A. "Margie" Karl, age 86 formerly of New Washington, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 with her children by her side at the Willows in Willard. She was born April 9, 1932 in Bellevue, Ohio to the late Raymond and Ethel (Kessler) Schindley. Margie was a graduate of Bellevue High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington, the Rosary Altar Society, and enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, and making scapbooks.

Gerald W. "Buzz" Karl, formerly of New Washington, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Willows in Willard. He was born December 3, 1932 in New Washington, Ohio to the late Walter and Gertrude (Ball) Karl. He was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington and the Knights of Columbus. He was a construction superintendent for Weithman Brothers in Galion. He enjoyed golf, watching any of the Ohio sporting events and most of all, going to his grandchildrens sporting events. He was a Army Veteran during the Korean War.

They are survived by 6 children, Steve (Marlene) Karl of New Washington, Sherry (Mark) Young of Shelby, Jody (Doug) Baker of Willard, Eric (Melissa) Karl of Lexington, Lisa (Randy) Payne of Mansfield and Scott (Traci) Karl of New Washington; grandchildren, Jeremy (Lorraine) Karl, Nicole (Kris) Hanlon, Aubrey Young, Aaron Young(Laura), Kayla (Dakota) Durbin, Curtis Baker, Randa Payne, Ryan Payne, Tara Karl, Brooke Karl and Jenna Karl; step-grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley) Brown and Rhiannon (Jordan) Appleby; great grandchildren, Scarlet, Mayzie, Mason, Hudson and Charlotte; great step-grandchildren, Payton, Luke, Autumn, August and Emerson; Gerald's two sisters, Miriam Baetens and Martha (Merle) Ahrens; Margaret's brother, Bob Schindley; two sisters, Rita (Bob) Martin, and Karen (Gary) Geiger; and a sister-in-law, Sue Schindley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald W. "Buzz" Karl who passed away just two days before her and whom she married May 14, 1955; their parents, Walter and Gertrude Karl, and Raymond and Ethel Schindley; Gerald's sister, Dolores Niese; and Margaret's two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald (Phyllis) Schindley, James Schindley, and Carol Schindley; and brother-in law, Omer Baetens.

Visitation will be held for both Gerald and Margaret on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio. The funeral mass will be Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington with Fr. George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Bernard Cemetery Fund or the Diabetes Association.
