Marie Gearheart, age 71, of Shiloh, OH, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 12th, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on February 13th, 1950 to the late Milford Sexton and Gracie (Barton) Sexton Hoskins in Hueysville, Kentucky. Marie spent several years working for Pioneer Rubber Company in Willard, OH and Lake Park Industries in Greenwich, OH.

Marie was an avid gardener who loved planting flowers, vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees. She loved canning and cooking for her family. She loved going to church and was a member of the Victory Temple Church of God in Willard, OH. She also loved spending time with her family and they will miss her dearly.

Marie is survived by her three daughters: Theresea (Gaylord) Crouse of Shiloh, Samantha Crosby of Shiloh, and Nada (Scott) Civay of Plymouth;  Six grandchildren: Carrie (Johnny) Gresh, Austin (Heather) Gearheart, Brandon (Britney) Crosby, Alex Oney, Kamrin Oney, and Caleb Crouse; Eight great grandchildren; Landon, Leland, Leum, Lucas, Greyson, Asher, Jakob, and Brennen; Six siblings: Keith (Ruth) Sexton, Gerald Sexton, Earl (Pam) Sexton, Clint Randall (Karen) Sexton, Gaylene (Claude) Handshoe, and Melissa (Glen) Hall; Two Aunts and an Uncle: Marie Marcum and Chelsea & Velman Sexton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as her lifelong friend, Clara Francis.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death in 1997 by her husband, Otis Gearheart, whom she married on November 6th, 1967. She was also preceded in death by four siblings: Henrietta Sexton, Kim Allen Sexton, and twins Lilly and Mark Sexton.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 15th, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Victory Temple Church of God in Celeryville, Ohio where her service will be at 1:00 PM with her grandson, Rev. Austin Gearheart officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. There will be a dinner immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Marie’s family. To the girls, I’m sorry to hear of your moms passing but you know she’s in such a beautiful place right now. I always had a great respect for Marie. She was a hard worker, a go getter who loved her family very much. I know each one of you have wonderful memories of your mother. Family is everything. Stay close to each other!
