Mary A. (Montgomery) Wright Champion, age 87, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010 in Shelbyville, Kentucky. She was born on May 6, 1923 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Benjamin and Laura (Miles) Montgomery. She retired from the Pioneer Rubber Company. She was a member of the Willard Church of God, the Willard Church of God Willing Working Ladies and was a prayer warrior for the Lord.
She is survived by one son, Jake (Marty) Wright of Willard; one daughter, Carol (Ernie) Miller of Shelbyville, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; seven step-children, Ida Albright of Mansfield; Mary Woodring of El Sinore, CA; William Champion of Mansfield; James Champion of Omaha, NE; Linda Turner, Willard; Rodney Champion of Shelby; Beverly Minnich of Plymouth; four step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two step great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Champion; one son, Richard Wright; seven sisters; one brother and 3 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Monday, October 11, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Church of God on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. I was deeply sadened on friday night when I heard that my step-grandma mary had passed away. She was always nice to me when my parents and I went to visit her and grandpa. I grieve with u as I miss her very much also. We must remember that she is in a better place than this old earth. Love and prayers.
