MaryEtta Thackeray, age 82, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 in the Willard Mercy Hospital. She was born on November 10, 1927 in Delphos, Ohio to the late Frank and Irene (Volk) Currey. She was raised in Delphos and graduated from Delphos Jefferson High School and had live in Toledo, Florida, Indiana and most recently Willard for the past 3 years. She had been employed as a medical transcriptionist for several doctor offices. She attended the Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard and was very active at the Willard Senior Center. MaryEtta never knew a stranger and loved being with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family.
She is survived by her four children, Susan Babione of Willard; James (Patti) Thackeray of De Land, FL; David (Diana) Thackeray of Ft. Wayne, IN; and Thomas (Teri) Thackeray of Delray, FL; eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
In addition to her her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Betty Scheithe; and a son-in-law, William Babione.
Visitation will be held at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Reverend Brian Peltomaa officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial expressions can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Willard Senior Center. Online condolences can be made at www.secorfuneralhomes.com

My condolences to the whole family. MaryEtta was such a sweet lady and such a good friend to my Mom, Alice Hay. It was so shocking when I heard that she had passed away. You will miss her so much but the good memories will get you thru. I am glad that your Mom and my Mom had become such good friends – they were great company for each other.
Sue, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. She was such a nice Lady, always happy. I sure enjoyed having her for a neighbor.
