Melvin Hamons, age 78, of Shiloh, Ohio and formerly of Willard, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 4, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 21, 1937 in Willard to the late Paul and Edna (Montgomery) Hamons. He retired after 40 plus years from CSX Transportation and he loved his family, motorcycles, cars and guns.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ella (Lacy) Hamons; four children, Joshua Hamons of Bellevue, Jon Paul Hamons of Shiloh, Debi (Hamons) Stahl of Bascom, and Sissy (Hamons) Kuhn of Shiloh; twenty one grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra Turner, and Lois Moore; five brothers, Robert, George, Paul Jr., Daryl and Jeff Hamons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sons, Melvin Ray, Doyle and Lyle Hamons; a grandson, Nicholas Hamons; and a brother, Dean Hamons
Melvin will be missed by many.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Monday, September 7, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Secor Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio.
