Merton O. Kessler, age 85 resident of Plymouth, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2005 in Willard Mercy Hospital. He was born on March 29, 1920 to the late Charles and Ida (Leonhart) Kessler and had been a resident of Plymouth most of his life. Mr. Kessler was a retired employee of the Airforce Depot in Newark, Ohio and a member of the First United Baptist Church of Willard, the Plymouth American Legion Post and the Disabled American Veterans. A veteran of WWII he served in the US Army.
He is survived by his wife, Fay M. (Caudill) Kessler whom he wed January 9, 1954; one son, Randy A. of Plymouth; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra J. and Charles VanWinkle of Plymouth; three granddaughters, Mindy, Stephanie and Lindsey; two great grandchildren, Isaiah and KayliAnn; one brother, Robert Kessler of Plymouth and other relatives. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Marvin, Ray and Cloyde; three sisters, Inez, Lucille and Viola.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the United Baptist Church in Willard on Monday at 11:00 AM with Pastors Danny Hamilton and James Wilson officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday at the church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Memorial expressions can be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the American Diabetes Assoc.
