Myrtle Kathryn Mahl, age 85, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 in Willard, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 14, 1928 in Havana, Ohio to John and Augusta (Wilhelm) Long. She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and now St. Gaspar del Bufalo and was an assembler for MTD in Willard for 18 years.. She was a member of the Attica Eagles, Rosary Altar Society at St. Sebastian and she graduated from Willard High School in 1947. Myrtle enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play sports, playing cards and watching the Cleveland Indians. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by 6 children, Suzie (Bill) Ruffing of Attica, OH; Shirley Mahl and David Miller of Milan, OH; Sandy (Norman “Casey”) Holmer of Attica, OH; Sally (Ken) McMillian of AZ; Scott Mahl and Brenda Fuller of Willard, OH; and Sam (Angie) Mahl of Willard, OH; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother Ray (Alma) Long of New Washington, OH; several nieces and nephews; and a sister- in- law Lucille Long of FL.
She is preceded in death by her husband whom she married on May 10, 1948, Raymond J. Mahl; 2 daughters, Sharon Ann Mahl and Sherry Marie Mahl; grandson Jeremy Holmer; brother Fred Long; parents, John and Augusta (Wilhelm) Long; and son-in-law Terry Jester.
Friends may call at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 3:00pm-7:00pm. A funeral mass will be Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10:30am at the St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church in Bellevue, Ohio with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will be at St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery in Bismark, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital or Donor’s Choice. Suzie,Shirley,Sandy,Scott,& Sam,
I love you all very much. We have the best mom in the world. I know we will all miss her very much and now she is our guardian angel watching over us.
