Owen Slone, age 82, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, Ohio. He was born on February 21, 1925 in Hollybush, Kentucky to the late Green and Mary (Perry) Slone and had been a Willard resident since 1968. Mr. Slone had worked in the coal mines in Kentucky and retired from MidWest Industries in Willard. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and camping.
He is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, AfoGean and Ronald Jones of Shelby; Brenda and James Hall of Plymouth; Lillian Sanders of Norwalk; Sharon and Brad E. Jones of Willard; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Diana Slone of Butler; Clinus and Teresa Slone of Willard; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two brothers, Doffie Slone of Kentucky; and Dencil Slone of Willard; seven sisters, Sharlene Carmean, Wilma Wright and Ella Mae Nester all of Willard; Ada Thornsberry, Artie Harris, Nonnie Anderson and Connie Slone all of Kentucky; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Stellie (Caudill) Slone in 1980; a son-in-law, Robert W. Sanders, Jr.; a grandson, Chad Taulbee; a great grandson, Haven W. Soergel; three brothers, Ralph, Maynard and Silas Slone.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral servives will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Danny Hamilton officiating.
