Paul J. Schumacher, age78, resident of Attica, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at the Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard. He was born on December 27, 1926 in Columbus Grove, Ohio to the late Harry and Clara (Kahle) Schumacher and had been a resident of Attica since 1962, where he owned and operated his farm. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in Attica. He was a W.W. II Army Veteran.
He is survived by 12 children, Carol and Frank Southfield of The Villages, FL, Helen (Beamer) and Gary Holthaus of Wapakoneta, Jim and Nan Schumacher of Attica, Dennis Schumacher of Great Mills, MD, Berniece Miller of Ashland, Anita Schumacher of Jacksonville, FL, Karla and Bob Coats of Willard, Jay and Gail Schumacher of Jacksonville, FL, Bill Schumacher of Bradenton, FL, Bob and Kris Schumacher of Attica, Sandi and Jeff Blunt of New Albany, Ohio, and Ed Schumacher of Las Vegas, Nevada; 21 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; twin sister, Pauline Osterhage of Columbus Grove, Ohio; and three brothers, Harry Schumacher Jr. of Columbus Grove, Ohio, Cletus Schumacher of Columbus Grove, Ohio, and Karl Schumacher of Columbus Grove, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. (Barto) Schumacher; his parents; son-in-law, Roger Beamer; and four brothers, Alfred, Robert, Raymond and Victor Schumacher.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, with a rosary at 6:00 P.M. and from 10-11 A.M. Sat. at the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Attica, where the Funeral Mass will be Sat. at 11:00 A.M., with Fr. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will be at the Attica Venice Cemetery in Attica. Memorials may be made to the St. Peter & Paul Building Fund and American Red Cross Relief Fund.
