Peggy L. McDaniel, age 71, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, Ohio. She was born on June 17, 1940 in Oak Hill, West Virginia to the late Willard Van Horn and Elizabeth Van Horn Lear. Peggy was a 1958 graduate from Harpster High School, where she was the class valedictorian. She was a teacher’s aide for the Willard School System and had worked at RR Donnelley’s in Willard. She enjoyed helping other people and loved her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, William McDaniel, whom she shared 53 wonderful years; one son, Jason (Kristin) McDaniel of Smyrna, Tennessee; one daughter, Elissa (David) Enzor of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Mashala Enzor, Austin Stapleton, Autumn Stapleton, Aidan McDaniel and Brianna Ilcisko; two brothers, David (Marlene) Van Horn of Gilbert, Arizona and Willard “Bud” Van Horn of Mesa, Arizona and one sister, Linda (Ron) Davis of Gilbert, Arizona.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Elizabeth Hemphill.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 4:00 to 7:00 PM where the funeral service be on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Pete Bellamy officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

I wish we could be there for you. I am so glad I was able to talk to peggy while she was at home. Our lives get so busy we forget how fast it is going. Then it is gone. love betsy

I’m so sorry to hear of Peggy’s passing. She was a teacher’s aide at Central School for many years and I will never forget the help she was to me and my students. What a warm and caring person, with such a happy outlook on life. She will be missed.

My heart feels like it lost a whole piece of it. Peggy was so dear to me. She kept me laughing at school, helped me do so many tasks and certainly helped with teaching. She gave so much of herself.
Although I have not seen her in awhile, I never forgot her or failed to ask someone if they had seen her and how she was.
