Phillip Hampton, Jr, age 64, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on October 1, 2008 at the Elyria Memorial Hospital in Elyria, Ohio. He was born October 26, 1943 in Willard, Ohio to the late Phil and Marjorie (Duncan) Hampton. He attended Willard High School and was an avid sports fan. He was an umpire for softball and baseball games at Willard Park. He most recently was working for the Salvation Army and formerly had worked at R.R. Donnelly in Willard.
He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Smith of Willard and Rosemary (Robert) Durr of Willard; his brothers, Daniel Hampton of Fostoria, Donald (Judy) Hampton of Fostoria and Kenneth Hampton of Willard; his best friend Wilbur Montgomery of Willard; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one niece, Alfreda Smith; and two nephews, Randy Durr and Bryant Hampton.
Friends my call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 12 Noon with Pastor Jeff Jones of the First Baptist Church of Willard will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions my be made to the family. I worked with Phil at RRD for several years. He was always laughing and singing all the time!! I always liked working with him because it made the day go by faster. He even got moved away from me a few times because we were laughing so much. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing.

what a great loss, and what a great freind. i had, and still have nothing but total respect for this man, and the rest of his family as well. mr hampton, as I liked to call him often was a cut above the rest. there was no one, and I repeat no one that i’s rather have watch my back for me if i was in touble. god bless Phil, and God bless the rest of his family.

Sorry to all of Phillips family, me and him were real good friends and i am going to miss him dearly. He was a great person and he will be missed.
