Phyllis A. Carpenter, age 67, resident of Willard, passed away Monday, April 26, 2004 in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo. She was born on April 8, 1937 to the late Roy and Ethel (Snyder) Frederick and had been a resident of Willard all of her life. A 1955 graduate of Willard High School, she was employed with former Shelby Mutual and retired from the Willard City Schools in 2000. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Willard and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, James Carpenter, whom she wed on August 3, 1958; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Ann Carpenter; one daughter, Carol Carpenter; two granddaughters, Kara and Kaci Carpenter all of Willard; one brother, Gene and Betty Frederick of New Mexico; and one sister, Edith Louise Bickley of Sandusky.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard. Funeral Service will be held on Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Willard at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ken Gifford officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Memorials can be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the First United Methodist Church.
