Rita Joan Hoffbauer, age 80, resident of rural New Washington, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Avita Bucyrus Hospital. She was born on November 13, 1937 in Auburn Township in Crawford, Ohio to the late Cyril and Mildred (Laipply) Donnersbach and has been a lifelong New Washington resident. Rita enjoyed doll collecting and was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and the New Washington American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Hoffbauer, whom she married on April 24, 1965; two sons, Steve (Nichole) Hoffbauer of Shelby, Doug (Lori) Hoffbauer of Bloomville; six grandchildren, Paige, Ashton, Baylie, Joshua (Amanda Newmann), Melissa, and Jacob (Keshia Cole) Hoffbauer; two great grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Silverman of IN; Ruth (Kenneth) Meinzer of Bucyrus, OH; Bernice Donnersbach of IN; Loretta (Phillip) Schneider of IN; and Esther (Ricky) Morgan of IN; one brother, Daniel Donnersbach of IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by six brothers, Norbert, Michael, George, Arthur, Thomas, and Charles Donnersbach; and a sister, Doris Weaver.
Visitation will be held at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father George Mahas officiating. Burial will be held at later date in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington.
