Robert E. McQuate, age 59, resident of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at his home. He was born on November 20, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas to the late Ivan and Martha (Porter) McQuate. Mr. McQuate received a degree in Physics from the University of Texas and had work with the Levis Strauss Co. in Texas and in apartment complex maintenance in California. He was a well versed Beatles fan and also an aircraft buff.
He is survived by his companion, Sandra Beatie with whom he made his home; a daughter, Katrina McQuate of Mansfield; a grandson, Shawn James McQuate; one sister, Betty Halsey of Kennewick, WA; and a brother, Jim McQuate of Ashland.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Monday, February 20, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Reverend James Wilson officiating. Bobby, what a beautiful soul: Full of joy and kindness. I will miss hearing your songs and seeing you perform. I am grateful to have met you when I did. Thanks to you and Sandy for making 2011 awesome. May the Lord bless you and keep you always.
My thoughts and prayers all with you all during this difficult time. I never even met Bobby except through facebook. His sense of humor, upbeat attitude, and love of music will be missed. May the Lord watch over him now and forever.
