Roger A. Babcock, Sr., age 85, resident New Haven, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on February 14, 1933 in Willard, Ohio to the late Charles and Lottie (Magill) Babcock and has been a lifelong resident. Mr. Babcock was a graduate of New Haven High School and had worked as an electrician for 30 years at the N&W Railroad. Roger also was previous owner of Babcock Excavating in New Haven. He enjoyed flying model airplanes at Babcock Field and was a member of the Willard RC Fun Flyers. He was also a former member of the ATA American Trap Shooting Association and the Willard Conservation League. Roger enjoyed sprint car racing, deer hunting, trap shooting, and most of all spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Thom Babcock of New Haven, and Roger "Alan" (Cindy) Babcock of Willard; two daughters, Pat Robinson of Willard and Barb Babcock of New Haven; three grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Robinson of Willard, Michael (Julia) Robinson of Willard, Amber (Rory) McKee of Shelby; four great grandchildren, Benjamin Robinson, Brian and Connor Ball of Willard, and Blake McKee; a brother, Richard Babcock of New Haven; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Babcock on November 16, 2013; a daughter, Victoria Babcock; a son-in-law, Terry Robinson; two sisters, Helen Nestor and Harriet Miller; and a brother, Leroy "Dutch" Babcock.

Visitation will be held at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Bob James and Pastor Cliff Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. So sorry for your loss. No matter what the circumstances it is tough to say good-bye to our parents. When I moved to Willard, Roger helped me out with a drainage issue on Maplewood. I was a single Mom with three young daughters at the time - and living on a very tight budget. Roger took control - worked with the city and fixed the problem.
