Roland J. Cramer, 84, formerly of North Auburn, Ohio passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on July 8, 1926 to the late Fred and Marie (Niedermier) Cramer in North Auburn, Ohio, where he lived and farmed his entire life. Roland was a member of the former Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church and New Washington American Legion and proudly served in the US Army during World War II.
Roland in survived by his sister, Bernadette Hipp of Norwalk, Ohio; his three brothers, Louis Cramer and Virgil Cramer, both of Attica, Ohio and Earl Cramer of New Washington, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary (Wharton) Cramer on July 29, 2001; a brother, Alan Cramer and a sister, Winifred Meyers.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in New Washington, Ohio from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM where mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM with Father James Steinle officiating. Burial will follow at the Mother of Sorrows Cemetery in North Auburn, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio or the New Washington American Legion. Rollie was a delight to know. I’ll miss his “kissable” bald head, baby blues and loud laugh. I am thankful he was a part of my life on 1N at OVH.
