Ruth E. Sukola, age 87, resident of Fort Myers Beach, Florida and former Willard resident passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 in Health Park Care Center in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was born on October 8, 1922 in New Washington, Ohio to the late Ralph and Marie (Weithman) Schill and had been a Willard resident the majority of her life. Mrs. Sukola was a 1942 graduate of the Mansfield Beauty College worked as a beatician for several years and later was employed as dietary supervisor at Hillside Acres Nursing Home for 19 years and a volunteer since 1983. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, 55 Plus Club, LCBA, and Our Cherished Treasurers.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jay D. and Linda Sukola of Dublin, OH; four daughters and four sons-in-law, Linda J. and David Michielini of Ft. Myers Beach, FL; Kathy J. and Ric Shellhammer of Oceanside, CA; Patti A. and Barry Stinson of Ft. Myers Beach, FL; Judy L. and Wayne Shupp of New Haven, OH; six grandchildren, Amber, Jason, Lucas, Corinthia, Nicolas and Wyatt; two brothers, Fr. Frederick Schill and Gene Schill; one sister, Alice Wisler; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Sukola in 2005; two sisters, Frances Bashore and Ann Enders.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, Ohio with interment following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Willard.
