Sallie (Fenner) Glorioso (born Serafina Fana), age 88, resident of Shelby, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at her home. She was born on June 21, 1924 in S. Agata, Sicily to the late Michael and Mary (Archita) Fenner and came to the states in 1935 and had been a Plymouth, Ohio resident the majority of her life. She was a 1944 graduate of Plymouth High School and had worked at the former Leland Hotel in Mansfield and later worked as a cafeteria worker for Shelby and Plymouth Schools. Mrs. Glorioso was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Daughters of Isabella, American Legion Post #447 Ladies Auxiliary and the 8 Et 40.
She is survived by three children, Sharon (Jeffrey) Sutter of Shelby; Mike (Amy) Glorioso of Lancaster, OH; and Kristina Glorioso and (Don Shirey) of Shelby; two step-children, Thomas Gloriosa of Mansfield; and Saundra Vosler of Athens, OH; six grandchildren, Eric (Amy) Glorioso, Casey Sutter, Meggan Sutter, Joshua (Missy) Glorioso, Nathan (Lori) Glorioso and Brooke Vaughn; five great grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Damon, Destinee and Braelynn; a brother, Anthony Fenner of Plymouth; and a sister, Josephine (Dale) Miller of Plymouth.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore “Sam” Glorioso in 1992; a son, Gregory Glorioso; a sister, Rose Heydinger a grandson, Brian Ray Vaughn and a sister-in-law, Patricia Fenner.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth with Father Eric Culler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the Southern Care Hospice of Mansfield, Ohio. Our hearts go out to you, our cousins and family, on this sad occasion. We remember Aunt Sallie as a sweet lady, a great cook, and as always, a rock in our family. She is one of the last of a great generation in our family and we miss them all.
