Marcella C. Wechter, age 82, lifelong resident of Tiro, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Willows at Willard Nursing Home. She was born on June 1, 1930 in Tiro, to the late Albert C. and Anna Mary (Faeth) Wechter. Marcella completed the St. Francis School of Nursing in 1953. Marcella was a registered nurse, as she served our country as a nurse as well as working at St. Charles Hospital, from where she retired. She was a member of the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Rosary Altar Society and American Nurses Association. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing word puzzles and traveling.
Marcella is survived by her two sisters, Sister Mary Catherine Wechter of Tiffin and Mary Ann Wechter of Tiro; and numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jacob E. Wechter.
Friends may call on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in North Auburn, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m., where Father Eric Culler will officiate. Burial will follow in Mother of Sorrows Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Stein Hospice of Sandusky, or the donor’s choice.
