Sandra Sue Lutz Haas, her life well-lived for 81 years, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 30, 2021 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. Arlo D. and Lois M. (Harrer) Lutz welcomed their daughter in Bucyrus, Ohio on March 13, 1940. She grew up in Crawford County, moving to the North Robinson school district, now Colonel Crawford, while in the 5th grade. There she met her future husband, Robert L. Haas, who she later married on September 6, 1959.

They lived in Groveport and South Charleston, finally moving to Willard in the summer of 1971. Sandy’s life was measured by her faith in God, dedication to singing with her church choir/praise team, volunteering for many committees, baking endless cookies and serving as the current financial secretary as a member of the First United Methodist Church. Even as a full-time wife and mother of two girls, Sandy went back to work from 1975 to 1999 at the Industrial Savings and Loan. All her life, Sandy had a gift of connecting to people, helping others, and creating lifelong friendships. Long before internet communication, she organized and maintained close relationships with family and friends, since childhood. As the wife of Coach Bob Haas, Sandra was Willard Basketball’s most devoted fan.

Sandy’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was devoted to her husband, Robert L. Haas, and their two daughters, Michele/Shelly (Denny) Weilnau of Milan, Ohio and Melinda/Lindy (Ken) Richmond of Oregon, Ohio; five grandchildren, Heather Weilnau of Cincinnati, Heidi (Chuck) McCord of Milan, Heath (Carla) Weilnau of Milan, Brian (Sierra) Richmond of North Baltimore, Ohio and Ben Richmond of Oregon, Ohio; and five great grandchildren, Cole, Maylie and Thea Weilnau, plus Elena and Ian McCord, all of Milan. Sandy’s brother, Ron (Connie) Lutz and sister, Dana (Dave) Young, plus Bob’s siblings, Carol Lauthers Long, Roger (Dorothy) Haas and Norene (Rick) Bard al from Bucyrus, Ohio remain. Preceding her in death were her parents, Arlo and Lois Lutz; sister, Elaine Lutz; and her father and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Mary (Quaintance) Haas.

The Haas family will be at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. You may also join us at our Willard First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Michael Padula, on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. At the conclusion of the service, we will travel to Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus, Ohio. In place of flowers, loving gifts in honor and memory of Sandra may be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Willard. The family would love for you to share memories with us at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.
