Steve Fries, age 46, of Egypt Road, Willard, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2005 at the Willard Mercy Hospital, due to a sudden illness. He was born Dec. 15, 1958 in Willard, where he lived all of his life. He was the owner of Fries Insurance Agency and Fries Farms, both in Willard. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Willard. He graduated from the Willard High School and Pioneer Joint Vocational School in 1977. He was a member of the Huron County Cattlemens Assoc. and the American Shorthorn Assoc. He was a former YMCA board member and was a Willard Area Buyers Group committee member. He had played for the Serenaders Dance Band for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbi (Nuhfer) Fries, whom he married July 31, 1982; son, Ben Fries of Willard; daughter, Sarah Fries of Willard; parents, Harold & Mary (Nickoli) Fries of Willard; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra & Dieter Kraft of Alpharetta, GA, Shirley Fries & Adam Martin of Milford, OH and Sheila & Mike Buurma of Willard; brother and sister-in-law, Scott & Marilyn Fries of New Carlisle, OH; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by a sister, Stacey Irene Fries.
Visiation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the Funeral Service will be Monday at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Ken Gifford officiating. Burial will be at the Centerton Cemetery in Centerton, OH. Memorials may be made to the Willard Area Buyers Group.
