Norma L. Schaffer, age 73, of Willard, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at her home after an extended illness. She was born on October 20, 1931 in Attica, Ohio to the late Lionel and Clara (Schoen) Lofland and had been a resident of Willard since 1952. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and belonged to the Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Research Club in Willard. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at the Quality Care Nursing Home and the Willard Area Hospital before retiring. Her volunteer work included Hospice, the Huron County Board of Elections and the American Red Cross Bloodmobile.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond “Bud” Schaffer whom she married November 11, 1952; three daughters, Chris Jacobs of Willard, Beth and Bill Goodsite of Willard, and Julie and Lanny Jackson of Lafayette, LA; one son, Mike and Deb Schaffer of Willard; 16 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; one sister, Ann Geise of Perrysburg. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Tommy Schaffer in 1985; and one daughter, Becky Moll in 2004.
Visitation will be Wed. from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard. There will be a Funeral Service, Thursday at 11:00 A.M., at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, with Fr. Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Willard. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, P.O.
