I am so sorry to hear about Vance. I knew him from our National Guard days in the 1486th, we served in Desert Storm together. I will always remember his smiling face and great attitude as he cooked the meals to sustain many Soldiers. May God show his Mercy and Grace during this most difficult time.

It seems strange reading this page, and even stranger writing on it. First I want to thank everyone for the kind words and thoughtfulness toward our family in this very tragic time. Vance will live forever in my heart without a doubt. I could not ask for a kinder more loving brother. He was always there in times of need, and always had a way of making my world a happy place to be. Melissa was a bubbly fun loving woman. She always found a way to make me laugh. Their deaths have left a void in my world that can never be refilled, but their memories will live with me forever. I love you Vance and Melissa…

What a tragic loss to our family. Vance was one of my many first cousins. I don’t think I ever had the pleasure of meeting Melissa, but my prayers go out to both families in this most difficult time.

Ariel Fry - Aug 1, 2012

I keep coming back to this page. Maybe if I keep visiting, one time this won’t be here and I’ll know it was all just a nightmare.
I appreciate all the kind words. I know my Dad would appreciate it all too. I remember almost all of you either from meeting you myself or hearing my Dad speak of you. He cared very much for all his friends and co-workers. You were all like a 2nd family to him. And for that I’m very grateful. Although his life was cut far too short, the life he lived was full and happy.
