Verra F. Weinlander, age 88, resident of Plymouth passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 in Willard Mercy Hospital. She was born on September 3, 1918 in New Washington, Ohio to the late Franklin C. and Mary M. (Durr) Shutz and had been a Crestline resident from 1955 until moving to Plymouth in 2000. Mrs. Weinlander was a 1936 graduate of New Washington High School and a homemaker. She also retired as a clerk from JC Penny’s Retail Store and had been a book keeper for Sherer’s Dairy. She is a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Crestline and a member of the Mary Martha Circle at the church. She was also an avid bowler, enjoyed her cats and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Dee Ora L. Newcome of Plymouth; and Carol M. Weinlander of Dansville, NY; one granddaughter, DiAnn M. Jamerson of Plymouth; two great granddaughters, Leigha L. and Emily M. Jamerson both of Plymouth; her sister, Kathleen Elmlinger of Apex, NC; and a sister-in-law, Helen Shutz of Westerville, OH; two nieces, Carleen and Bob Bagnall of Apex, NC; and Rhonda McKeen, Spring, TX.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Paul A. Weinlander, Jr.; and a brother, Weldon A. Shutz.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Thursday, November 30, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with Reverend Jack Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Sulfur Springs, Ohio.
