Walter J. Kreim, age 82, resident of North Royalton, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 5, 2006 at the Parma Community General Hospital in Parma, Ohio. He was born on March 15, 1924 in New Washington, Ohio to the late Walter Sr. and Winifred (Blust) Kreim, and lived most of his life in the Cleveland area. Mr. Kreim served in the US Army Air Force during WWII in the European Theatre. He then attended and graduated in 1950 from the Case School of Applied Science in Cleveland with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He had worked with several companies, the Rola Company in Cleveland, Farnsworth Electronics in Ft. Wayne, Stromberg Carlson in Rochester, NY and retired from NASA Lewis Research Center in Cleveland. He was a member of the Registered Professional Engineers, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Legion.
He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Doloris Kreim of Heath, OH; Bernard and Mary Kreim of Newark, Ohio; and one sister and brother-in-law, Helena and Daniel Heydinger of Willard and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in New Washington at 10:30 AM with Father Frederick Schill officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington, Ohio. Memorial expressions can be made to St. Bernard Catholic School Endowment Fund.
