Virgil B. Cramer, age 83, resident of Attica, Ohio passed away at his home on Saturday, July 25, 2015. He was born on June 20, 1932 in North Auburn, Ohio to the late Fred and Marie (Niedermier) Cramer. He was a New Washington High School Graduate. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army as a forward observer radio man for the 40th Infantry where he earned the rank of corporal. After being honorably discharged from the Army on September 24, 1954 he returned home and married Freda Beamer on July 7, 1956. He worked and retired from MoorMan Manufacturing as a livestock feed salesman on March 30, 1991, where he was in the top 100 of sales for 9 years. Although he retired from MoorMan Manufacturing he never retired from farming. He was a member of the Huron County, Ohio and National Cattleman’s Association, American Legion Post 405 in New Washington,the Willard Eagles, and many state and local tractor and gas engine clubs.
He is survived by five children, Michael (Joyce) Cramer of New Washington, Joyce M. Cramer of New Washington, Patricia (Steve) Krebs of Attica, Steve Cramer of Tiro and Shirley (Mark) Jones of Bloomville; seven grandchildren, David, Robert, and Matthew Cramer, Andrew and Robin Krebs, and Stacy and Ross Jones; three great grandchildren Samuel and Allison Krebs, and Xavier Foster; one brother Louis Cramer of Attica, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Freda in 1999, two sisters, Winifred Meyers and Bernadette Hip, and three brothers Roland, Earl and Alan.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the St. Bernard Catholic School Hall. The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington, Ohio. Burial will follow at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery in North Auburn, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard Church.
