Virginia D. Hamons, age 79, resident of Tiro, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 in Heartland Nursing Home in Bucyrus. She was born on May 3, 1926 to the late Elmer Lee and Orpha LaVerne (Willford) Pine and had been a resident of the New Washington and Attica areas all of her life.
She is survived by her husband, James Luke Hamons, whom she married April 12, 1946; 4 sons and daughter-in-laws, Paul Edward and Violet Hamons of Carrothers, Jerry Lee and Alice Hamons of Delphi, Larry Grant and Phyllis Hamons of Attica and David Ray and Susan Hamons of Collins, Ohio; 2 daughters and son-in-laws, Phyllis June and Dale Newmeyer of Attica and Rosalie and Randall Steiner of Tiffin; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mollie Rachael Oney of Willard, Jeannette Lafferty of Willard, and Joyce Howard of Hebron, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Orpha (Willford) Pine; 3 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the funeral service will be Sat. at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Dan Clouse officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.
