Walter H. “Dude” Kilgore, age 81, of Willard, OH, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Willows at Willard. He was born on March 28, 1933 in Willard to John and Dora (Miller) Kilgore. He was a retired welder from General Motors, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Messiah House of Prayer Church. Dude was an avid knife collector, loved working in the garden, woodworking, watching westerns and loved his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene (Bailey) Kilgore whom he married July 7, 1956; 4 sons, Robert (Sandra) Kilgore, Rich (Karen) Kilgore, Duke (Laurie) Kilgore and Phillip Kilgore all of Willard; grandchildren, Chandra, Megan, Hollie, Christina, Danny and Harley; great grandchildren, Kaden, Karson, Preston and Addison and sister Catherine Deppen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Dora (Miller) Kilgore, sister Ruth Feltner and brother Harry “Junior” Kilgore.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. where a funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00 A. M. with Pastor Bill Howell officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Stein Hospice in Sandusky.
