Curlis Slone, age 91, resident of Willard, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2005 in Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard. He was born on October 31, 1913 in Knott County, Kentucky to the late Arland and Nancy (Huff) Slone and had been a resident of Willard since 1980. Mr. Slone had resided in Indianopolis, Indiana for 36 years prior to moving to Willard and was employed with the Standard Change Maker and Pacific Nickle Lock. He was a follower of the Baptist faith and 32rd Degree Mason.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Janice Slone of Willard, Ohio; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Slone; his second wife, Edda Idiona Slone; six brothers; and five sisters.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Sunday from noon to 2:00 PM where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Earl Sexton officiating. On Monday the family will receive friends at the Hindman Funeral Services in Hindman, Kentucky from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Hindman Funeral Service on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Curtie Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Bill Slone Cemetery in Raven, Kentucky.
