Anna Belle Steely, a resident of Willard Health Care Center, died Thursday, February 23, 2006.
She was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania on April 04, 1908 and moved to Willard as a small child. She graduated from Willard High School in 1928 and from Prospect Heights Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, New York in 1934. She was Director of Nursing at Willard Municipal Hospital for many years and later was Director of Nursing at Quality Care Nursing Home (Now Willard Health Care Center.)
She is survived by two daughters and their families: Nancy Eldridge of Willard and her children, Stephen and Cindy Eldridge and their sons Christopher and Brendan of Bexley, Ohio; W. Craig and Wendy Eldridge and their two children Britta and Zeb Eldridge of Avon, Ohio; and Stacey and Scott Sidle and their two children Sam and Seth, of Manchester, PA.
Daughter and son-in-law Sue and David Jerdan of Crail, Scotland and their two children Andrew Jerdan of Glasgow, Scotland and Helen Jerdan Knull and her husband Justin Knull of Stow, Ohio.
She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Sallie Carney of Ogden, Utah, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband. Henry Harrison Steely in 1973, by her parents, James Daniel and Minnie Maude (Little) Carney, brothers Thomas, Clyde, James, Joseph and Jack Carney; sister, Pauline Bolen and three sisters in infancy.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home, 202 W. Maple St., Willard, Ohio from 2-9 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2006. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 27, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Reverend James Ellis of Grace Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Willard.
At Anna Belle’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to Mercy Hospital of Willard Foundation, Willard Health Care Center Memorial Fund or Grace Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.secorfuneralhome.com
