Bessalean “Bess” Bogner, age 85, of Louisville, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Nazareth Home in Louisville, KY. She was born October 6, 1927 in Adele, KY to the late Will Press and Mabel (Gullett) Taulbee Newell. She was a Willard and Plymouth, Ohio resident for most of her life, before moving to Louisville, KY in 2001. She graduated from New Haven High School in 1945. She was employed by the former Plymouth Elevator for 14 years and the Willard Christian Day Care, from which she retired in 1992, as well as being a stay-at-home mother and homemaker. She was a longtime member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, OH and member of St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church in Louisville, KY.
She is survived by her children and spouses; Scott T. and Linda F. Bogner of Louisville, KY; Shawn E. and Tamara L. Bogner of Jackson Township, OH; Susan A. (Bogner) and Scott A. McGovern of Towson, MD; Stasi B. (Bogner) and Wayne C. Trout of Hilliard, OH; grandchildren, Samuel T. Bogner of Louisville, KY, Christina L. and George T. Bogner of Jackson Township, OH, Ian T. and Colin A. McGovern of Towson, MD, and Eric T. and Emory S. Trout of Hilliard, OH; sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Larry Dodd of Ellwood, Il; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Patrice Chronister of Punta Gorda, FL; sister-in-law, Shirley Taulbee of Plymouth, OH; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl “Butch” and Peggy Bogner of Willard; brother-in-law, James Bogner of Lima, OH; sisters-in-law, Helen Bogner of Crestline,OH, Joan Bogner of Westerville, OH and Yvonne Bogner of Willard, OH; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Bogner, to whom she was married on 11/27/1948 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth, Ohio; parents, Will Press Taulbee and Mabel (Gullett) Taulbee Newell; brother and sister-in-law, J. Eugene and Marion Taulbee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ernestine and Jack Baumgartner and Dortha and John Bores; brother, Bill R. Taulbee; niece, Terry L. Durbin and nephew, Jerry A. Taulbee.
Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio. The funeral mass will be Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, Ohio with Fr. Mike Diemer officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Willard, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Xavier School.
