Emma Jane Smith, age 71, resident of rural Plymouth passed Sunday, September 18, 2005 at her home. She was born December 29, 1933 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late William and Delphia (Risner) Barnett, she had been a Willard resident the majority of her life. Mrs. Smith retired from Midwest Industries after 41 years and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the Willard United Baptist Church. She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Gordon Smith who she married October 3, 1953; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey and Lori Smith of Willard; and David and Sharon Smith of Shelby; six grandchildren; Linda and Clark Wright of Willard; Zachary Smith of Willard; Jerrod Smith of New Mexico; Kirsten and Steve Crowley of Idaho; Bryan Smith of Columbus; and Kendra and Mike Gano of Shenandoah; 3 great grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Melvin and Carol Barnett of Willard, Kenneth and Margo Barnett of Willard, and Robert and Annette Barnett of Willard; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda Faye and Rev. Bill King of Reynoldsburg, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Thelma Jean Barnett; and two brothers, James D. Barnett and Ish Barnett.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at the Willard United Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Danny Hamilton and Rev. James Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Willard United Baptist Church, Stein Hospice or to one’s choice.
