Faye M. Pool, age 86, of Willard, passed away on August 25, 2009. He was born on June 12, 1923 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Faye and Lucille (Lash) Pool. He served in World War II for the U.S. Navy as a Seaman. He was a life member of the Willard V.F.W. Post # 3430. He worked for 30 years with the Nickel Plate, Norfolk & Southern and New York Central Railroads. He loved his cats Toby & Lonesome.
He is survived by his wife, Louellea Pool; three sons, David (Lisa) Pool of Tiffin, Richard Pool of Findlay and Harold Pool of Baltic; two daughters, Kay O’Flaherty of Carey and Barbara (Robert) Bernal of Fostoria; 5 step-children; 25 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Ed Pool and Roger Pool, both of Bryan; Jim Pool, Bob Pool and George Pool, all of Bellefontaine and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, John and Thomas Pool; one brother, Bernard Pool and two sisters, Susie Hunsicker and Shirley MacDonald; one step-daughter, Angie Adams.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Friday, August 28, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Darrel Gant of Stein Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Faye (Jr) was my uncle. I didn’t know him very well but he was family. I remember seeing him at our last “Pool” family reunion. God bless him and may he rest in peace.
