Hilda LaVerne Sheely, age 97, resident of Plymouth, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2007 in Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard. She was born on July 24, 1910 to the late Leslie and Cora (Gist) Somerlott and had been a resident of Plymouth since 1922. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth. She was a former Bookkeeper for Shelby Mutual for 21 years. She was also one of the first women mail carrier’s in 1940.
She is survived by her nephew, Ronald (Annette) Trauger of North Canton, Ohio; and a cousin, Ruthetta Cook of Cardington, Ohio.
She is preceded by her husband, Floyd E. Sheely; her parents, Leslie and Cora (Gist) Somerlott; her brother, Troy Somerlott; and a step-sister, Lucy Teal.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and on Monday, November 19, 2007 at the First Evangelical Church in Plymouth from 11:00 AM – Noon, where the funeral will be held at Noon with Pastor Leonard Shatkus officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Evangelical Church in Plymouth.
