Irene Montgomery Honaker, age 78, died peacefully at home on Thursday, April 28, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 14, 1943 in Gage, Kentucky, Breathitt County. The daughter of the late Price and Lona Clemons Montgomery of Gage, Kentucky, Breathitt County.
 
She enjoyed gardening and yard work, flowers, camping trips, fishing, country and bluegrass music, square dancing, vacationing to Kentucky and Tennessee, cooking, cookouts, bowling, attending church and spending time with family and friends. And she was a great home maker. She worked hard all her life to give her children things she didn’t have when she was growing up. She also was a member of Church of God on Willard West Road.
 
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Billy Joe Honaker whom she wed on November 9, 1960 in Magoffin County, Kentucky; two children, Dallas Honaker of Willard, Ohio and Margie Honaker of Florida; three grandchildren, Brooke (Nathan) Korbas of Shelby, Ohio, Nick (Mikayla) Smith of Shelby, Ohio and Abby Honaker of Shelby; four great grandchildren, Natalie, Brinley, and Wesley Korbas and Grayson Smith, all of Shelby, Ohio.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Price and Lona (Clemons) Montgomery of Gage, Kentucky – Breathitt County; five brothers and one sister, Minuard Montgomery of Willard, Rev. Orbin Montgomery of Delphi, Ohio, Marvin Montgomery of Willard, Kenneth Ray Montgomery, JC Montgomery of Jackson, Kentucky and Mary Louise Montgomery of Willard; two brothers-in-law, Ray Honaker of Jeffersonville, IN and Robert Honaker of Shiloh, Ohio; and one sister-in-law, Betty R. Honaker of North Fairfield.
 
She was 17 year employee of Pioneer Rubber Company in Willard and an 18 year employee of Pepperidge Farm Inc. in Willard. She and her husband, Bill, and daughter, Margie, were owners and operators of 3 Subway’s in Norwalk, Shelby and Ontario for over 20 years.
 
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Greg Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at North Fairfield Cemetery in North Fairfield, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the Church of God in Willard.
