James Bailey, age 87, resident of Shiloh, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at MedCentral Shelby Hospital. He was born on September 2, 1917 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Kendall and Rose (Shepherd) Bailey and had been a Plymouth – Shiloh resident the majority of his life. Mr. Bailey was a retired employee of Voisard Manufacturing in Shiloh and enjoyed gardening, woodworking and was an outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes “Gail” (Turner) Bailey, whom he wed on August 30, 1951; one son and his girlfriend, Randall Bailey and Karen Reber of Shiloh; one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Gerald Ritchie of Shiloh; one grandson, James Ritchie of Shiloh; four brothers, Frank Bailey of Virginia; Fred Bailey of Shelby; Bert Bailey of Ontario; Delmer Bailey of Shiloh; four sisters, Polly Lacy of Shelby; Pearlie Mize of Huron; Elva Reed of Shelby; Roberta Cole of Mansfield; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home with his brother, Pastor Delmer Bailey officiating. Burial will following Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
