Lavottis (Dyer) Back, age 78, of North Fairfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at The Willows of Willard after a lengthy illness.

She was born on September 18, 1940 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Chester and Berta (Rowe) Dyer.

Lavottis attended South Central School and had worked at Kent Sporting Goods and Pioneer Rubber. She taught Sunday school for many years and loved to play the piano and sing in church. She also played the accordion and guitar in her younger years. Mom always had a song in her heart and loved talking on the phone to her family and friends.

Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Donna (Back) and Jim Mull of Willard and Linda Back of North Fairfield; a grandson and his wife, Daren and Nichole Mull and great granddaughter, Harper Mull; brothers, Herman (Dolores) and Don (Diane) Dyer; sisters, Roberta Montgomery, Janis Sue (Bob) Dick and Gwen (Dave) Kilgore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Back in January of 2006; four siblings that died at birth and sister, Burretta Clagg; and parents, Chester and Berta (Rowe) Dyer.

True greatness is determined by the love and devotion one gives and receives in their everyday contact with their family, friends and neighbors. Our home will be lonesome without Mom. Her voice we'll hear no more, but the memory of Mom will always remain in our lives. We feel that our loss is heavens gain.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Ralph Farmer.
