M. Fred Dalton, age 79, of Willard, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 4, 2016. He was born on October 27, 1936 in Pulaski, VA to the late Malinda (William) King and Mallon Dalton. Fred retired from Ford Motor Co. in Sandusky on April 19, 1996 and most recently working at Sharpnack Chevy in Willard. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. Fred was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Willard and the Car Coddlers of Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, J. Joanne Dalton; a son, Denny (Jayne) Vanderpool of Willard; four daughters, Brenda (Donnie) Bailey of Greenwich, Kim Vanderpool of Willard, Cheryl (Danny) Atkins of Willard, Sharlene Dalton of Floyd County, KY; a sister, Faye Gullet; a brother, Jay Dalton; 17 grandchildren; a great great grandson; numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren; and his faithful companion, Buster Dog.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his son, Donald Dalton; a grandson, Steven Shook; 4 brothers; and three sisters.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Calvary Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Donald Gallion officiating. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. So sorry about Fred’s passing. When we had the BMV open in Willard he was one of our favorites. Such a nice person and always happy. He will be missed. God Bless you all.
