Mary B. Powell, age 88, resident of New Washington, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at her home. She was born on September 26, 1920 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Edward and Emma (Felter) Burger and had been a resident of New Washington most of her life.
She is survived by two sons, John M. and Judy Powell of Ruldoph, Ohio and Ervin E. and Barabara Powell of New Washington, Ohio; four granddaughters, Angela, Amanda, Jennifer and Carrie; and two great grandsons, Kanon and Fynn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Martin Powell on July 1, 1996 and four brothers.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in North Auburn on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 10:30 AM with Father Tommy Rodrigues officiating. The family will recieve friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Koutiala Women and Children’s Hospital in Mali, West Africa and left in care of the Shelby Alliance Church, 105 E. Smiley Ave., Shelby, OH 44875.
