Mildred L. Tanner, age 92, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Villa Angela Care Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on August 5, 1921 in Elyria, Ohio to the late Halden and Leona (Haag) Buckingham and had been a life long Willard resident. She was a 1938 graduate of New Haven High School and then attended the Oberlin School of Commerce. She had worked at the Goodyear Rubber Company in Akron and later as legal secretary for Attorney Joe Dush for 38 years. Mrs. Tanner was member of the former Willard Presbyterian Church where she served as financial secretary, a life member of the Willard Historial Society, B.P.W., and a member of the Eastern Stars Superior Chapter #328.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ila and Chuck Clickenger of Columbus; one granddaughter, Anna Margaret Clickenger of St. Paul, MN; two grandsons, George and Charlie Clickenger both of Columbus; four great grandchildren; one brother, Donald Buckingham of Willard; sister-in-law, Doris Buckingham of Sandusky; brother-in-law, Clarence and Thelma Tanner of Orange, CA; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Tanner of Wooster; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, David Craig Tanner in 2000; three brothers, Robert, David and Halden Buckingham; and one sister, Evelyn Buckingham.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 with Reverend Richard Bower officiating. Burial will be held at later date.
