Phyllis J. Burton, age 70, resident of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio, following a lengthy illness.. She was born on September 9, 1935 in West Liberty, Kentucky to the late Delbert and Martha (Keeton) Johnson, moved to Willard in 1960, and then to Plymouth in 1962. She retired from R.R. Donnelley Co. in Willard as a production coordinator, after 37 years of service. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Plymouth, a social member of the Plymouth American Legion and a member of the National Republican Party. She loved to read, gardening and sports.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest J. Burton whom she wed in 1959; one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Mike Batt of Mogadore, OH; six grandchildren and their spouses, Zachary King and fiance’ Lisa Kennard of Plymouth; Seth Enderby of Plymouth; Rachel Enderby of Toledo, OH; Cody and Caitlyn Bruner of Mogadore, OH; Jerod and Kate Batt of Cincinnati, OH; and Justin Batt of Toledo, OH; a brother-in-law, Milton Copeland of Frankfort, KY; five nephews, two nieces and numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Genova Copeland and a brother, Larry Johnson.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Saturday with Reverend Linda Heinaman officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio.
